Fields in an enrichment
An enrichment generates seven fields. Four update built-in product attributes your theme already renders. Three are added as custom fields and written for answer engines.
Built-in product attributes
These overwrite fields you already use, so they carry the most risk on apply and deserve the closest review.
Custom fields
Added to the product rather than replacing an existing attribute.
Answer engines favour content already shaped as an answer. If visibility in AI results is your goal, the two Q&A fields matter most — and they work even when not displayed to shoppers. See Making AEO fields useful.
What is not generated
No marketplace or channel fields, no structured attributes, no categories. See What enrichment does and doesn’t do.
Choosing what to use
You can clear any column during review and apply only the fields you want. Two patterns:
- Storefront first — description, meta description, page title. Visible improvement for shoppers and search.
- Answer engines first — AI snippet and both Q&A fields. Aimed at the surface growing fastest.
Product Name deserves a deliberate decision. It is the field customers and search engines recognise your product by, and overwriting it across a catalog changes more than the page text.
