PayPal Commerce Platform order summary no longer counts shipping tax twice
On stores that show prices with tax, the order summary in the PayPal window no longer counts the tax on shipping twice or shows the difference as a discount.
- Shipping tax: when the shopper picks a shipping address or shipping option in the PayPal window, the tax line no longer includes the tax that is already in the shipping amount. Previously, PayPal showed that amount again as a discount, labeled with the coupon name or “Voucher 1”.
- Stores that show prices without tax: the order summary does not change.
The amount charged to the shopper does not change.
New remote tunnels guide
A new Remote tunnels page explains how to expose a local development server at a public HTTPS URL so BigCommerce can reach it during app, webhook, Embedded Checkout, and Stencil development.
- Three supported options — step-by-step setup for VS Code port forwarding (including Cursor), ngrok, and GitHub Codespaces, with a comparison of requirements and URL stability.
- Shared guidance — verifying the tunnel, updating callback URLs and other configuration when the URL changes, and troubleshooting common failures.
- Consistent instructions — the Apps quick start, the single-click app tutorial, the webhooks tutorial, and related guides now link to this page instead of maintaining their own tunneling steps.

Storefront GraphQL order line items keep their image after the product sells out
The Storefront GraphQL API now returns the image of an order line item after its product sells out, instead of null.
- Affected stores: stores whose out-of-stock behavior (Settings > Inventory) hides products that can no longer be sold.
- Affected fields:
imageon physical and digital line items of an order, for example onsite.order.consignments.shippingandsite.order.consignments.downloads. - Past orders keep their images: the image no longer depends on the current stock of the product. Products that are not visible on the storefront or not assigned to the channel still return
null. - No changes needed: you don’t need to change any queries or store settings.
