## API Updates for January 17, 2025

**API**

* We are happy to announce you can manage languages across different channels. Using the GraphQL Admin API, merchants can add, update, or remove [locales](/developer/docs/admin/store-configuration/settings/locales-configuration) for each sales channel, change locale status, and set a locale as the default.

* When submitting a shipping cost for the POST and PUT [v2 orders](/developer/api-reference/rest/admin/management/orders) request, you must now include `shipping_cost_inc_tax` and `shipping_cost_ex_tax`  in the payload. This change ensures accurate calculations and prevents negative shipping cost tax values.

**Enhancements**

* Removed the beta label since the [Storefront Form Fields](/developer/api-reference/rest/storefront/form-fields) API is generally available.

* Removed the deprecated `show_inclusive_in_control_panel` field and added the `control_panel_price_display_strategy` field in the [Tax Settings](/developer/api-reference/rest/admin/management/tax) API.

* Added a 422 error response to the [Update a product image](/developer/api-reference/rest/admin/catalog/products/images/update-product-image) endpoint.

* Added an “Avoiding infinite loops” section to our [Tax Provider](/developer/api-reference/rest/integrations/tax-provider) API guide to describe avoiding infinite loops. This topic has caused some disruption a handful of times over the years.

* Added clarification in the [Get facets](/developer/docs/storefront/headless/products/faceted-textual-search) section of [Faceted and Textual Search with the GraphQL Storefront API](/developer/docs/storefront/headless/products/faceted-textual-search) to prevent confusion when nodes return empty results.

**Bug Fix**

* Added and updated field limitations for the [Create Categories](/developer/api-reference/rest/admin/catalog/category-trees/categories/create-categories) endpoint.
